Shipping Cost
A Guide to Smart & Savvy Shipping
Being located in the beautiful, far-flung corner of the world that is New Zealand has its perks, but we know that international shipping can be a challenge. We are committed to getting you the best possible rates without ever adding a markup.
To help you get the most value out of every order, here are a few tips to keep in mind.
1. Mind the Kilos
Heavier items will naturally increase the shipping cost. Large chocolate blocks, canned drinks, and glass jars will add more to the total weight than lighter treats.
2. The Deal with Bulky Items
Light but large items like bags of chips or crackers are charged by the space they take up in a box (this is called volumetric weight). A 150g bag of chips takes up much more room than a 150g chocolate bar, so its shipping cost will be higher.
3. Maximise Your Weight Bracket
This is the best way to get value! International shipping is often charged in brackets (e.g., up to 2kg). This means sending a 500g parcel can cost the same as sending a 1.9kg parcel. To make the most of your shipping cost, try to fill up your weight bracket. Adding a few extra chocolate bars can feel like they’re shipping for free!
A Quick Note on Product vs. Shipping Weight
It’s important to remember that the net weight displayed on a product’s label (e.g., 150g) does not include the weight of the packaging itself.
Our system automatically calculates the total shipping weight at checkout, which includes the products, their packaging, and the box we send them in. The final cost is always displayed for your review before you complete your purchase.
Our promise is simple: we charge you what the courier charges us. Planning ahead and placing larger, less frequent orders is the best way to keep your costs down.
